I love how so many holidays are just ridiculous when you think about it. Let’s see… It’s the day before All Saints’ Day… What to do? Let’s dress up like cat people and Zelda!

You’ve probably heard hallow before, referring to hallowed ground.  Hallowed ground would be ground that is consecrated or holy.

The theory with Samhain is that, since it’s from October 31st to November 1st, it was associated with All Saints’ Day and the day before.  It sounds like pretty sound logic. The main difference, as far as I can tell, is that the motive for dancing changed from ghost scaring to candy.
