Cue the dramatic exit music! I’m out!
I’m having fun with these living fossils. I hope everyone else is as well.
Ginkgo’s even have a really long lifespan too. They’re in central China, so I’m doubting Red Barn or anywhere else will have them handy, but some seriously did survive the A-bomb strike on Hiroshima.
Just live long enough and you could be a living fossil. No pressure.
There are other plants, but there’s also a fungi and bacteria that are “known” living fossils, called the Neolecta and Stromatolite, respectively.
The Monkey Puzzle was called that because it’s a tall, thin tree with branches at the very top, so people figured it would puzzle monkeys. Go figure. Clearly, their only solution was to throw feces.
