The sun’s surface is ~5,780 Kelvin. Earth’s surface temperature is ~290 Kelvin. Considering how hot it feels when the temperature increases by just a few degrees, the sun is rather toasty.

Now, still know the sun is average, but check out the last picture where it’s compared to enormous stars. The sun is a single pixel, whereas Antares is just massive. Antares is a red supergiant that’s also in the Milky Way galaxy and is the 15-16th brightest star in the night sky.
Just another little bright speck in the Universe.
