Apparently, the carbohydrates from the big Thanksgiving meal eventually result in an increase in melatonin. Melatonin is something I’m quite familiar with, since it’s a natural(ish) way to help people sleep that I am personally a fan of. I researched it a bit and it’s pretty fascinating. Expect a comic about it soon.

Tryptophan is apparently also used as a sleep aid. It makes sense that people thought it was the cause of the post Thanksgiving nap, honestly. The explanation for why it’s the carbohydrates is pretty complicated.

UGG is the codon used to basically call for Tryptophan. At some point, I’ll explain what any of that means.
