After light goes through the cornea, it goes into the eye through the pupil.  The iris is the bouncer of the vision club and controls how much of the light gets in.  The light is then refracted by the lens, which is when the rays are flipped. The inverted image then goes to the back of the eye and hits the retina’s photoreceptors.  These send the electrical signals to the brain and let you see and read things on educational webcomics about how you see!
